Skiing is a dumb sport. It really is. It serves no greater good for mankind and really has no purpose other than wanton self-gratification. We endlessly chase fleeting sensations like 'catching air' and 'floating through powder'. We're an eccentric bunch that are egocentric and divided. I mean if we were all united then the fucking powder would be tracked out by 9. It pains me to realize that my life is devoted to chasing a storm that can never be caught. But yet, here I am. The day before I leave my native beach-town of Santa Cruz, California and head out for a winter that will come to an end in 5 short months. Packing the house is a pain in the ass. Moving into my truck for the winter sucks. But to that I say farewell. Farewell to the conventional. I'm off to act like an idiot for the next 5 months. And I'm so fucking excited!
